The Prawn Shop and beyond

This year i have really pushed my self. Last year i always thought to myself that once i finish university, then i can start to run a business/brand however I've realised that i don't need to wait for the 'right' time, any time is the right time.
My grades so far this year have been good, and my business is continuing to grow i've really made my self proud of how much i have been able to do, by my self, whilst trying to achieve high grades in my course.

I have began to think of my options for when i leave university, the 'dream' would be to be in a position where i can do The Prawn Shop full time, in order to do this i know that over summer and during this year i really need to push my self and my brand in order to gain more exposure, a higher following, and have enough money in the bank to i can rent out a studio space.
In addition to this, this summer i also have to pay my taxes, which i didn't expect to be doing at 20 years old, however i have a meeting with an accountant in a few weeks time so thankfully i won't have to do it alone.

As mentioned in my presentation, i'm bringing out an embroidered collection over the net two weeks, i feel as if this will really push The Prawn Shop in the right direction as up to now, i've only created pieces with digital prints on them, i feel like this is the right time to bring out a new, slightly more expensive range also, as i've now built up a following and loyal customers and i feel as if they will buy the items which are £5-£10 more expensive than the current.
I also mentioned in my presentation that i now own The Prawn Shop (the name), and i received a trade mark certificate a few days ago to confirm it.

PPP made me start The Prawn Shop and i am very thankful for that, the module made me realise that i don't have to wait to have a degree to get paid for the work i like to do, i will continue to try and make more connections over summer also, i want to create a lookbook and send it off to brands, studios and publications that i admire, i'm not sure what i want to come from it, or what will come from it, but gaining attention from creatives i look up to is something i look forward to.

During the course next year i want to experiment with the briefs i do more, i also want to work on developing styles which are appropriate for a range of briefs, rather than trying to make my prawn shop style of illustration fit for all of the briefs.
